No Reddit app, no client secret and no token to refresh. You send one key as a Bearer token.
No proxies, parsers or headless browsers to keep alive. You call an endpoint and get clean JSON.
No token buckets to track and no backoff code to write. Each response tells you where you stand, and a request we turn away is never charged.
One price for every endpoint. Listings and searches are billed per 10 results, and you choose how many come back in one call, up to 100, with limit. You only pay for what comes back.
$0.00035per request, from
The list price is $0.0007 per request, and $0.00035 on a single top-up of $5,000 or more. One request reads a post with its comments, a comment or a user profile. Listings and searches cost the same for every 10 results returned.
One unit price across all 9 endpoints. $10 covers 14,285 thread reads, or the same number of 10-result pages.

Apixstar drops to $0.35 per 1,000 on a single top-up of $5,000 or more. Sources are listed under the table below.
| Job | What it takes | Cost per month, at most |
|---|---|---|
| Read 10,000 threads with their comments | 10,000 requests | $7.00 |
| Watch one keyword every 5 minutes, 10 results a time | 8,640 searches a month | $6.05 |
| Pull the newest 100 posts from 50 communities every day | 1,500 pages of 100 results | $11 |
Searches that return nothing are free, so a quiet keyword costs less than the figure shown. Work out your own volume.
Apixstar was built to run Bavior, our own Reddit growth product. A team that works on Reddit data full time keeps it running, and your requests take the same route as our production traffic. An outage for you is an outage for us.
Integration is one request. The paths follow Reddit's own URLs, so if you know a Reddit address you already know the API path.

List prices for read requests, checked October 8, 2026: Reddit official, TikHub, Redditapis, ScrapeCreators.
Read a Reddit thread for 30% less than TikHub's list price. Where others are the better fit: Reddit's own API is the only officially sanctioned route and the only one for posting as a user, TikHub and ScrapeCreators cover many platforms with one key, and Redditapis can also post and send messages. Apixstar only reads Reddit. Read the full comparison.
If a script of yours stopped working this year, it was probably one of these. Dates are from Reddit's own announcements as reported on October 9, 2026.
Closes October 31, 2026
Reddit ended self-service API keys in November 2025. It stops taking new access requests on October 31, 2026 and closes public access for remaining apps in March 2027.
With Apixstar you sign in with Google and get a key straight away.
RSS ends November 13, 2026
Adding .json to a Reddit URL without logging in stopped working in mid-2026, and RSS feeds are next. Changing the User-Agent does not bring them back.
You call one endpoint and get the same listing as clean JSON.
No public price list
Reddit's free tier is non-commercial and capped at 100 queries per minute. Commercial use is by agreement, and Reddit does not publish a self-serve price.
$0.0007 per request, published, with no contract and no minimum.
Read the detail: the shutdown timeline and your options, or why .json returns 403.
A remote MCP server gives Claude Code, Cursor and other agents tools for feeds, threads and search. Nothing to install.
Search a keyword on a timer and alert on new mentions. One keyword every 5 minutes costs at most $6.05 a month.
Whole threads come back in one call, which makes them a natural retrieval unit for an assistant or a study.
claude mcp add --transport http apixstar https://api.apixstar.com/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"
Add the read-only Reddit MCP server to Claude Code with one command
If you know a Reddit address, you already know the API path. Communities live under /r/, users under /u/, and filters go in the query string.
| Endpoint | Returns |
|---|---|
GET /reddit/v1/r/{community} | Community listing, hot by default |
GET /reddit/v1/r/{community}/{sort} | Listing sorted by new, hot, top, rising, or controversial |
GET /reddit/v1/r/{community}/comments/{id} | Post thread with comments |
GET /reddit/v1/r/{community}/search | Search inside one community |
GET /reddit/v1/u/{username} | User profile |
GET /reddit/v1/u/{username}/submitted | Posts submitted by a user |
GET /reddit/v1/posts/{id} | One post by id, with comments |
GET /reddit/v1/comments/{id} | One comment by id |
GET /reddit/v1/search | Search across Reddit |
Go deeper by task: search, comments and threads, or collecting posts at scale. Every parameter is in the API reference.
No Reddit developer app, no OAuth scopes, no review queue. You get $0.50 of free credit to test with.
Keys are shown once and can be revoked at any time. Use up to ten per account.
Send the key as a Bearer token. Try a request in the playground before you write code.
Better to know before you sign up than after.

MCP & agents
Mira ChenAI engineer · ThreadloomGive the agent context, not another integration.
I ask the agent to find a discussion and read the replies. The MCP connection gives it the tools; I can spend my time on the question.
For a product-research assistant, I want to move from a broad question to the actual conversation. I connect the hosted MCP server, search for relevant threads, and let the agent read the public replies. I still check the original sources before using a finding. The useful part is having search and thread reading in the same workflow.
API integration
Elliot MarshFounder & developer · PatchnestA Reddit integration I can actually leave alone.
My side project needs public posts, not a second project maintaining a scraper. One API key and ordinary JSON fit the way I already build.
I am building a small research tool alongside my day job. I start with a familiar Reddit URL, make the corresponding API request, and pass the response into my app. I keep retries and error handling in my own code, but I do not need to operate a browser or maintain HTML selectors just to read a post.
Research & RAG
Amina ColeData engineer · ContextwellKeep the discussion attached to the answer.
A post title rarely tells the whole story. Reading the post and its comments together gives our retrieval pipeline something useful to work with.
For retrieval, I save the source URL alongside the public post and the comments returned by the API. That gives the assistant context for a claim and gives the reader a way to check it. I treat the response as a bounded snapshot, not an exhaustive archive, and refresh sources when a question needs current context.
Brand monitoring
Rafael CostaGrowth engineer · SignalharborFind the mention. Keep the human in the loop.
We search for product mentions and put new matches in a review queue. The team gets a link and the context, then decides what deserves a reply.
Our workflow polls a few product and category terms on a schedule. We deduplicate the returned post IDs, then send relevant matches into our own review queue. The API supplies public data; a person decides whether to respond. It is a simple building block for monitoring, without handing posting decisions to a script.
Product discovery
Leena ShahProduct researcher · FieldquillRead the conversation behind the keyword.
A search result tells me where to look. Opening the thread helps me separate a passing complaint from a problem worth investigating.
When researching a feature, I search the language people actually use rather than only our product category. I open relevant threads, read the replies, and keep source links with my notes. The output is a shortlist for qualitative research, not a claim that a handful of discussions represents the whole market.
Usage & billing
Jonas ReedPlatform engineer · RunsteadStart small. Make the usage visible.
We can top up for an experiment, inspect the usage, and decide whether to expand it. That is a comfortable way to try a new data source.
I begin with a limited set of scheduled queries and check the usage log before increasing volume. Listings and search are billed by returned-result units, so I size requests around the job rather than assume every page costs the same. A prepaid balance lets us run a contained experiment before committing more engineering time.
$0.0007 per request. One request reads a post with its comments, a comment or a user profile. Listings and searches cost $0.0007 for every 10 results returned, rounded up, so a page of 100 results costs $0.007. Failed requests and empty pages are free.
A listing or search returns up to 100 results per page, 20 by default. A post request returns the post with up to 200 comments.
No. Apixstar is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Reddit, Inc. It returns public Reddit content. You are responsible for how you use and store that data, including compliance with Reddit's terms and the laws that apply to you.
No. You sign in to Apixstar with Google, create an API key and send it as a Bearer token. There is no Reddit app registration and no OAuth flow.
No. Apixstar is read-only. It reads public listings, threads, profiles and search results.
Limits apply per account and are the same for every account, whatever you have topped up. Each API response reports your current limit in X-RateLimit headers, and a request rejected by the limit is not charged.
Apixstar does not use a Reddit developer app or OAuth token of yours, so the registration deadlines Reddit announced for its public Data API do not apply to your account with us. We run our own product on the same pipeline and intend to keep it working. We cannot promise uninterrupted access to a site we do not control, which is why a request that fails is never charged and your balance does not expire.
We cannot give legal advice. Apixstar is an independent service with no agreement with Reddit, and it returns content that is publicly visible on Reddit. Whether your use is allowed depends on what you do with the data, Reddit's terms and the law where you operate. Check these before you store, republish or train models on Reddit content.
Each request is fetched from Reddit when you make it, so you get what Reddit shows at that moment. Apixstar does not keep an archive, so it cannot return deleted posts or history that Reddit no longer serves.
Yes. There is a remote MCP server with tools for feeds, threads and search, which works with Claude Code, Cursor and other MCP clients. There is also the apixstar command line tool with skills for Claude Code, Codex and Cursor.
