What to check besides the price per request

Data per request

Providers return different page sizes for one request. Apixstar charges $0.0007 per 10 results on listings and searches, and $0.0007 for a post with up to 200 comments.

Who pays for failures

Reddit throttles and blocks. Ask whether a timeout or an upstream error is billed. Here it is not.

Expiry and minimums

Check whether credits expire and what the smallest purchase is. A Apixstar balance does not expire and there is no subscription.

Comparison questions

Which Reddit API is cheapest?

It depends on volume. On published list prices checked on October 8, 2026, entry prices per 1,000 read requests were TikHub $1.00, Redditapis $2.00, ScrapeCreators $1.88, FetchLayer $1.99, Reddit official $0.24, and Apixstar $0.70. Several providers get cheaper at high volume, so compare at the volume you expect.

Why not use the official Reddit API?

You can, if you are approved and your use fits its terms. It needs a registered app and OAuth, the free tier is limited to 100 queries per minute and to non-commercial use, and commercial access is arranged with Reddit directly.

What if I need more platforms than Reddit?

Then a multi-platform provider such as TikHub or ScrapeCreators is the better fit. Apixstar only covers Reddit.

What if I need to post or send messages?

Apixstar is read-only. Redditapis offers write and direct-message endpoints, and the official Reddit API supports posting for approved apps.

How should I compare price fairly?

Compare the cost of the data you need, not the cost of a request. Check how many posts or comments one request returns, whether failed requests are billed, whether your balance expires and whether there is a minimum spend. Apixstar bills listings per 10 results, so price a page at the size you will actually request.
