Terms of Service
In short: Apixstar is a read-only API for public Reddit content. It is not run by Reddit. You add prepaid funds, which these Terms call credits, through our payment provider, Waffo Pancake. Requests are charged at the published price per request, and failed requests are free. Unused purchases can be refunded within 14 days. You are responsible for how you use the data. Do not use it to spam, harass, surveil or re-identify people.
1. Agreement
These Terms are a contract between you and comiaos, LLC, a company organized under the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, with its address at 1207 Delaware Ave #1163, Wilmington, DE 19806, United States ("Apixstar", "we", "us"). They cover the Apixstar website, console, API, command line tool and agent skills (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, buying credits or calling the API, you accept these Terms. If you use the Service for a company, you confirm that you can bind that company, and "you" means that company.
If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Apixstar is independent of Reddit
Apixstar is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Reddit, Inc. "Reddit" is a trademark of Reddit, Inc. and is used only to describe what the Service reads.
The Service retrieves content that is publicly visible on Reddit and returns it in a structured format. We do not own that content and we do not license it to you. Rights in the content stay with Reddit and the people who wrote it. We cannot promise that Reddit will keep allowing the access the Service depends on, and Reddit may change its platform at any time without telling us.
3. The Service
The Service is a digital software-as-a-service product delivered over the internet. Nothing is shipped. The Service is read-only. It returns community listings, post threads with comments, user profiles and search results. It does not post, comment, vote, send messages or log in to any Reddit account. We never ask for your Reddit username or password.
The endpoints, parameters, limits and response format are described in the API reference. We may add, change or remove features. When a change is likely to break existing integrations and is within our control, we will try to announce it in advance.
4. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract.
- You may not use the Service where doing so is prohibited by sanctions or export laws that apply to you or to us.
- You sign in with a Google account. You are responsible for that account and for everything done under your Apixstar account.
- API keys are secrets. Do not publish them or share them outside your organization. Revoke a key in the console if you think it has leaked, and tell us at support@apixstar.com.
- One person or organization may not open multiple accounts to collect free credits or to get around rate limits.
5. Acceptable use
You are responsible for your use of the Service and of the data it returns. You must comply with the laws that apply to you, including privacy and data protection law, and with any third-party terms that bind you.
You must not use the Service or its data to:
- harass, stalk, threaten, dox or intimidate anyone;
- monitor or profile specific individuals, or build a file on a private person;
- re-identify people, or link pseudonymous accounts to real identities;
- infer or classify people by health, religion, political opinion, sexual orientation, ethnicity or other sensitive traits;
- perform facial recognition or other biometric identification;
- send spam, run vote manipulation, evade bans, or create or operate fake accounts;
- interfere with elections or run coordinated inauthentic behavior;
- collect or process data about children;
- infringe copyright or other rights, or republish Reddit content in bulk as a substitute for Reddit;
- break the law, a regulation or a card network rule, or help someone else break one.
You must also not:
- go around rate limits, credit metering or access controls;
- resell, sublicense or proxy the raw API as a competing data service without our written permission;
- probe, scan or attack the Service, or disrupt it for other customers;
- reverse engineer the Service, except where the law gives you that right regardless of this clause.
If the content of a person is deleted or made private on Reddit, you should stop using copies you hold where the law or the rights of that person require it.
6. Credits and payment
- Prepaid credits. The Service runs on a prepaid balance held in US dollars, which these Terms call credits. You add to it with one-time top-ups. The current top-up amounts, prices and rate limits are shown on the pricing page and on the billing page. There is no subscription, no automatic renewal and no automatic top-up. We do not keep a payment method on file to charge you again.
- One-time purchases. Each purchase is a single transaction. By completing a purchase, you authorize a one-time charge to your payment method for the amount shown at checkout.
- Immediate delivery. Credits are a digital product. They are added to your account as soon as payment is confirmed, usually within seconds, and can be spent at once. That is why the refund limits in section 7 apply.
- What is charged. Successful requests are charged at the prices on the pricing page. Reading a post with its comments, a comment or a user profile is charged per request. Listings and searches are charged per batch of results returned, rounded up for each page. Each response states the amount charged.
- What is not charged. A request that fails is not charged, and neither is a page that returns no results. That includes invalid keys, an insufficient balance, unsupported paths, rate limits, timeouts and upstream errors.
- Free credits. We may grant free credits at sign-up or in promotions. They have no cash value and cannot be transferred or refunded.
- Expiry. Purchased credits do not expire while your account is open and in good standing.
- Payment provider. Checkout is operated by Waffo Pancake, which acts as merchant of record and authorized reseller for purchases of credits. Your order is placed with Waffo Pancake, its buyer terms apply to the payment, and the charge appears on your statement as "WAFFO" or "WAFFO PANCAKE". Card data is processed only by Waffo Pancake, a PCI DSS certified processor. It never reaches our servers and we do not store it.
- Taxes. Prices are shown without tax unless stated. Where VAT, GST, sales tax or a similar tax applies, Waffo Pancake calculates it, shows it at checkout before you pay, and collects it.
- Price changes. We may change prices for future requests and top-up amounts for future purchases. Credits you have already bought keep their value.
7. Refunds and billing disputes
Because credits can be spent immediately, purchases are non-refundable once any credit from that purchase has been used, except where the law requires otherwise.
We will refund a purchase in full when:
- you ask within 14 days of the purchase and none of its credits have been used;
- you were charged by mistake or charged twice;
- the charge was unauthorized, once we have verified it;
- a mandatory consumer right in your country gives you a right to cancel. If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, you have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase. By spending credits from a purchase you ask us to start delivering it at once, and you accept that this right ends for that purchase when its first credit is used.
How to ask. Write to support@apixstar.com from your account email with the purchase date and the order reference from your receipt. We reply within 2 business days. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method through Waffo Pancake, and card refunds usually arrive within 3 to 10 business days. When a purchase is refunded or charged back, the credits from it are removed from your balance.
Billing disputes. If you think a charge is wrong or you do not recognize it, please contact us before you dispute it with your bank. We reply within 2 business days and correct confirmed billing errors within 5 business days. This does not limit your rights with your card issuer.
8. Rate limits and fair use
Each account can send 30 requests per second, regardless of top-up amount. Requests over the limit are rejected and are not charged. We may apply additional limits when needed to protect the Service or other customers, for example during an upstream incident.
9. Availability
We work to keep the Service available and fast, and we rely on it for our own products. Even so, we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Service depends on Reddit and on other providers, and any of them can change or fail without notice. Some content may be missing, delayed, removed or different from what you see on Reddit. Do not rely on the Service as your only copy of important data.
10. Your data and privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect about you as a customer and how we use it. Payment card data is processed only by Waffo Pancake and is not stored on our servers. Account records are deleted or anonymized within 30 days after your account is closed, apart from the billing records the law requires us to keep. Where API responses contain personal data about Reddit users, you decide why and how that data is processed in your systems, and you are responsible for having a lawful basis for it.
11. Intellectual property and feedback
We own the Service, including its software, documentation, design and trademarks. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use the Service under these Terms. Nothing here transfers ownership of the Service to you. If you send us feedback, we may use it without owing you anything.
12. Suspension and termination
- You can stop using the Service at any time. To close your account, write to support@apixstar.com. Credits left in an account you choose to close are refunded only where section 7 allows it.
- We may suspend or close an account immediately if we reasonably believe it has broken these Terms, creates legal risk or harm for others, or is being used fraudulently. Where we can, we will tell you why.
- If we close your account because you broke these Terms, unused credits are forfeited.
- If we close your account or shut down the Service for another reason, we will refund purchased credits that are still unused.
Sections that by their nature should continue after termination will continue. These include acceptable use, intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits and indemnity.
13. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the data is complete, current or correct, or that access to Reddit content will continue.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, even if we were told they were possible.
Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event that gave rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
15. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify us against third-party claims, losses and costs, including reasonable legal fees, that arise from your use of the Service or its data, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of a law or of the rights of someone else.
16. Governing law and disputes
Please contact us first. Most problems can be solved by writing to support@apixstar.com, and we will try to resolve a dispute informally within 30 days.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes that are not resolved informally. If you are a consumer, you keep any mandatory protections and court access that the law of your country of residence gives you.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. When a change is material, we will post the new version here with a new effective date and notify account holders by email at least 14 days before it applies. If you keep using the Service after that date, you accept the new Terms. If you do not accept them, you can close your account and ask for a refund of unused purchased credits.
18. General
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If one part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. Neither party is liable for delay caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including changes made by Reddit.
19. Contact
Questions, billing and refund requests, notices, abuse reports and security reports all go to one monitored address, support@apixstar.com. We reply within 2 business days.
